I just had a baby boy and feel that there may have been misuse of Pitocin.They gave me pitocin and within 2 hours I was dilated from 2cm to 10cm. It was a difficult delevery of 4 hours of pushing and then when I asked for a c-section the doctor said it was best for the baby to be born vaginally. The babys heart rate kept dropping and she decided to use the vaccum extractor. She used it forcably 4 to 5 times and then the baby was born lifeless and blue. They air evacted him to a nearby childrens hospital and 8 days later we had to let him go due to the severity of his brain damage due to lack of oxygen as well as multi organ failure. Earlier in the night when the doctor came to check on me the very first time she stated she had one of those days where she could go home and have a stiff drink. I feel like she wanted to just get out and go home. We are now looking at a lawsuit against the doctor and possibly the hospital. This is the hardest think I have ever gone through in my entire life. Being home is the worst... all the broken dreams of such a promising life... the emptiness all around. I feel that there was a misuse of pitocin as well as the vaccum extractor. Anyone who is pregnant needs to due there homework on all drugs procedures prior to giving birth.
