My story

I had a very similar thing happen to me, except that I wasn't even on the pitocin for 12 hours and they were able to get the bleeding stopped. I was on a high dose for about 4 hours, and on it in total for about 8 hours. When they did the (completely unnecessary) cesarean, after my baby was out, they had to massage my uterus for quite a long time before it finally started to contract again and the bleeding was stopped enough to sew me back up. I didn't have any transfusions, but given how I felt after, I probably should have had at least one. Whenever I tell other women that they shouldn't get induced unless they really need it, I quite often get a lot of negativity. They don't understand that I know first hand how dangerous it can be. And I got lucky. If I had been on it longer, I might have been in the same situation as the stie owner.
