I gave birth to my first child July 10th 2003. I did lot's of research while I was pregnant on labor, induction and all the safest and healthiest methods. I made a birth plan, which was clear on the count that I did not want pitocin. Unfortunately, after a month of hard, close contractions and dialating a cm every week to two weeks, I was desperate. On my due date, I finaly convinced the doctor to admit me. I finally dialated to 4 and they decided to give me an epidural and pitocin. By that point I was so exhausted I gave in and agreed to the pitocin. At six weeks, my daughter began having what the first doctor termed clonus. When it started occurring more frequently, we looked for a second opinion. Now, they call it myoclonus and tell me that it's due to the myelin not being completely formed in her legs and that it will get better as she gets older. I didn't believe him since it already seems to be getting worse. I have a nephew with epiepsy and am somewhat paranoid. I know my daughter does not have that, but now this myoclonus seems to have a cause that I introduced, or at least did not prevent from being introduced. I was so careful during my pregnancy, wanting to give her the best. And now look what I've done. I feel so guilty. Does anyone else have this problem?
