Stacy: Pitocin contains a preservative called Chlorobutanol, which is a muscle relaxant. One place you can go for information is go to www.google.com and type in What preservative is in Pitocin?; and it will give you a bunch of sites to read. Also these may help...http//www.kfmb.com/topstory.php?story/D=761 and also http://www.channel 4000.com/health/storieshealth-stories-4831082001-100257.html. I hope this information helps you. I have a 3 year old who has Horner's Syndrome, which is a neurological disorder. I had pitocin with him and he basically shot out of me like a bullet because my body did not respond well to the pitocin. Now I also have a 9 year old..he has never been quit right but we could not put our finger on it. He is extremely smart but did not do well socially. Each year at school he has gotten worse with social skills and this year he became physically sick over not wanting to be around children his own age. We were just given a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome on him in December. This is a high functioning Autism, and is also a neurological disorder. Yes, I had pitocin with his birth also..seems to me that pitocin may have a high chance to cause neurological problems in our children. My 9 year old also has OCD, anxiety disorder and phobia's. Hope the links are some help to you. Best Wishes, Mary
