I came upon this page looking for a correlation between Pitocin and hearing loss. My son is almost 5 and is in speech therapy because of a mild hearing loss. Someone told me to check the effects of Pitocin and I must say I am totally shocked to see the problems Pitocin can cause. Well to give you a very brief history of my sons birth, I was induced at 39 weeks because they thought my son was large(he turned out to be exactly 8lbs.). I was given Pitocin for 4 days straight from 8am to 7pm, they finally got my cervix to dialte by breaking my water on the 4th day, but I still had to have a vaccum extraction, the use of forceps and 100 stitches. Now that I read these stories I just want to say that I feel very lucky and if anyone finds a connection to hearing loss please e-mail. Good luck to everyone.
